Assessing the Combined Effects of Transportation Infrastructure on Regional Tourism Development in China Using a Spatial Econometric Model (GWPR)

Transportation infrastructure plays an important role in tourism, and the spatial econometric model (GWPR) can offer quantitative support for regionalized development policies transportation infrastructure. Panel data from 30 provinces were collected a decade before COVID-19 pandemic. We show that GWPR is superior tool assessing combined impact of on tourism its heterogeneity. The effects have historically been overwhelmingly positive, with positive effect high-speed rail expanding over decade, while air travel contracted. vary across space time. Additionally, evolution exhibits this study are categorized into five types, targeted implementation strategies formulated.
